Theology Matters has been mailed free, quarterly, since 1994. Tell us where to send it.
Why subscribe
A quarterly worth keeping on the shelf
Each issue of Theology Matters takes a single question seriously. A lead essay sets the theme. Contributing pastors and scholars take it up from different angles. The result is a quarterly that earns its place on a working pastor’s shelf, the kind of journal you keep, return to, and lend out.
The print journal has been free, by design, since 1994. There is no payment, no tier, and no automatic renewal. Sign up once with your mailing address; the next issue will arrive in your mailbox.
What’s in each issue
Three voices, one conversation
Lead essay
An in-depth treatment of the issue’s theme from a senior pastor or scholar. The longest piece in each issue, intended to set the conversation.
Contributor essays
Multiple voices on related questions, drawn from the network of pastors, scholars, and church leaders who write regularly for Theology Matters.
Pastoral commentary
Practical reflections written for ordained ministers, ruling elders, and engaged lay leaders. Where confessional theology meets the work of the parish.
